Hello all,

This is my first post to the Spyderco forum, done because I just got my first Spyderco! My newest sharp acquisition is a micarta Jess Horn, and this is the sharpest new knife that I have so far purchased. I am really impressed with the quality of such an inexpensive kife, and I would have to say that Spyderco quite possibly provides the most amount of bang for the buck spent.

I do have one question -- does anyone know the angle that should be used to re-sharpen the blade?

thanks,
Phil Reedy

If you have the 204 Sharpmaker, I'd use the 30 degree (15 x 2) angle. Sharpen it that way and then give it a couple of light stokes on the fine rods set at 40 degrees (20 x 2) to remove any residual burr and to strengthen the edge a bit.

Stop when you get to bone.

Welcome to the Spyderco family. I remember when I had only one Spyderco. My Endura that I still carry today. Now I have 5, and need a few more. (Shabaria, Chinese Folder, and Spydie card on the list now.)
Get the 204 Sharpmaker. It will sharpen anything.
