Q: What year was this done?

1997
BSA No. 1002

1st of a planned series of 12. Series was not completed.

Thank you very much!

So my table has been updated:

#BSA002 (#1002) "Tomorrow's Leader" (1997)
#BSA064 "All Together" (1998)
#BSA??? "???" (1999)
#BSA830 "Guiding Hand" (2000)
#BSA831 "Adventure Trail" (2001)
#BSA832 "Daily Good Turn" (2002)
#BSA833 "???" (2003)
#BSA834 "Man Of Tomorrow" (2004)

2 models (1999 and 2003) have remained unidentified. I think it is "On My Honor" and "A Scout Is Helpful".

Yes! :)
In the Camillus pricelist for 1999 this designated as BSA787.
Thank you very much for the information.
I spent a lot of time that would gather this together. In the Internet there is very little information about Camillus Norman Rockwell Commemorative BSA Knives.

Considering the millions sold (more than Boy Scout Handbooks), it is surprising that there is not a lot of information on any B.S.A. knives A gentleman has started up a site but his work proceeds slowly.

I don't collect Boy Scout knives but I do accumulate Camillus 72s and their clones which includes the Camillus 1047 Scout knives. Here are a couple which have not been shown.

According to the information I got off the Scout knife site, the white 1047 was only made from 1980 - 1984.

I believe this Camillus 1047 with a short line and bone handles was one of the first issues. It was before they
started putting shields on them and were just etching Boy Scouts on the main blade. I lucked on to this one
at the Janesville Wisc. Badger show in October of 2012.

That second one is a treasure. Try to make sure it ends up in a museum (with good security).

Holbrook says 1984 for the white one. Kerr says 1983.

Thanks Thomas. I don't know who Holbrook or Kerr are but are they saying the white Scout was only made one year? If so, no wonder they're so difficult to find.

So when I said I lucked on the bone handled short line, you're telling me I really LUCKED onto it? I don't remember exactly what I paid for it but somewhere around $35 sticks in my mind. Even a blind chicken gets a kernel of corn now and then.

Sorry. I was less than clear. They are the authors of the two monographs on Boy Scout knives and Holbrook has the white "whittler" last issued in 1984 and Kerr last issue in 1983.

I wonder if anyone was aware that the brown baby existed. eBay?

I'm sorry. "Brown baby"?

Thank you!
Number white version was not different from the standard version? Maybe it was something addition, such as "Limited edition" or something else?

Someone at Boy Scouts of America decided all the official pocket knives should have white handle scales, and so it was done - "Scout" pattern, Cub Scout knife, "Whittler" - all had white scales starting in 1980 and ending in 1982.

I found a document dated November 1980.

What do the letters "XB" in the model numbers?
