Before buying, i was looking for one handed opener, no liner lock, bigger blade and a steel which gave me mixed results. It was far from what i wanted (wanted aus10 but didn't want to beat an expensive knife and regret it later)
Eventually went with the double safe hunter. And so far im impressed, the roller lock isn't rigid like other cold steel knives. The blade is big and generous and you get a lanyard hole and a pocket clip which is standard.
So far i didn't use it for any utility tasks but for what i used it for its perfect so far. Its not the quintessential edc knife as its quite large. But it can handle other tasks and even aid in self defense situations.
The only compromise is the steel which is 8cr, however cold steel guarantees it's tempered to 57 hrc which brings it closer to 420hc or aus8 .
It is stainless, satin finish. No fancy coating that can contaminate food. Its the perfect beater knife. Use it and throw if you want, trade or get a new one its a win win every time
