Para 3 LW Issue

My Para 3 LW pivot tension is highly dependent on how I hold the knife. If I hold the scales loosely while I disengage the compression lock, the blade falls freely. If am pressing the scales together, the blade binds up. This behavior is completely unlike my Sage 5 LW which reliably swings freely whenever I disengage the lock.

Is this normal behavior for the Para 3 LW?

Normal.

You could always buy AWT LW PM3 scales that you eliminate
the issue since they are metal
