Why does it say "043V" on it by the thumbhole?

I mean the steel "CPMS30V" is listed under "Spyderco".

The 043V....if you are in the Spyderco collector's club, you have your collector's number on the blade. The "V" means that it is a variation. Meaning...say the main DoDO that they came out with had a Plain Edged blade. Then that knife would just have a 043 on it. If you chose to get the variations, like the Serrated version, then your collectors number would have a "V" after it......did I explain it good enough

SFD covered the serial number....I carry a worn out BM Leopard Cub and AlMar SERE 2000 black chrome when the Cub won't suffice. md
