The Bush Hermit thread

I got to fondle one of these this past weekend. Fit and feel wise it was my favorite of the knives I held and it will probably be the next Fiddleback I buy depending on what blade thickness and handle choices become available.

I want to Second this notion! The Bush Hermit is a special knife. I got to handle Justen's 1/8 TT versions and was blown away at how nice they feel in hand. I wouldn't mind owning one of these myself, though I do have a couple others on my list before it.

Just got back some new kydex for the BH from BuyBrown. I think this combo will be going to Africa with me this summer.

^That turned out very nice Phillip. Simple, clean, minimal size and maintenance. That should serve you well on your adventure.

That's a great looking sheath Phillip! I have to say, I really do like kydex sheaths.

I had the good fortune last week to get my favorite Bush Hermit in black micarta with Koa bolsters thanks to dsarps. I sent him a PM last November to congratulate him on an epic score when he sharked this knife. Of course I included a message to let him know that I would love to buy or trade for it if he ever decided to let it go. Sometimes those PM’s work out if you are patient enough...

Thank you Michael!! :)

Phil, I'll take it. sent paypal info please

Thanks for the WTB interest Bob. You are currently #5 on the list.

This is my favorite Fiddleback handle combo. Micarta for a working knife with fancy Curly Koa bolsters for show. I would love to have a 3/32” Bushcrafter with a thicker handle in this combo. That is the only Fiddleback on my wish list. I am hoping and waiting...:) Fiddleback Fiddleback VANCE VANCE @allen456

I agree with many of the posts above that the Bush Hermit is the best design Andy has made in the last few years. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an all-around 4” blade with a fantastic handle shape.:cool:

Gotta add some more photos to this thread:

Does anyone have a couple of comparison photos to the Bushfinger? Besides the guard and what appears to be a slightly taller blade/handle on the BH, I am wondering what other differences or similarities there are to the Bushfinger.

J jb33 It is a very different model in the hand. The handle is wider and more open on the pommel end. The blade is also wider. Length wise, though, they are exactly the same. 4" blade and 4.5" handle

Here's a modified picture putting the two next to one another. The original can be found in this thread where I wrote about the Bushcraft Tasker.
