you've got some really awesome stuff here.New hobby since about the start of the year. Super fun. Still learning. Got real lucky with a few heads. Some I bought for $5 and others I paid $40 for. I’m amazed at how little is required to get going. I’m paying retail for new handles.
I’m using an ultrasonic cleaner from HarborFreight, white vinegar, brass wire wheel, hand-files, rasps, box-cutter blades, drywall-backed paper, and a tiny soldering torch. Finishing with BLO and wax.
Thanks! It’s been really fun. I’m slowly zeroing-in on what I prefer to work on. I found a 2.5 lb Collins Cruiser the other day and I think it might be my favorite so far. Also that little Norland Tomahawk. It’s amazing, the deals you can find when you start looking. I found a Gransfors splitting maul bundled with a S&N mini-maul for $50 a few weeks ago. The Gransfors remains the only one that I haven’t re-hung so far, out of about thirty.you've got some really awesome stuff here.
