Joseph Hudson’s whistle factory was bombed in 1940 allowing the Adie Bros, also from Birmingham to fill the remaining government contract for military whistles. In 1941 they shared the deal with Hudson 40,000 units for Adie and 60,000 for Hudson. So this rare broad arrow marked 1940 trench whistle is a prize in my collection.
