Casinostocks Casinostocks and SpyderPhreak SpyderPhreak my scales are as I labeled them because I ordered a set of each from Jo, I figured there’s going to be some variation and I really haven’t seen many pics of them yet so I’m glad more people will be ordering it!
🍻
I can see that brownish underlayer on both of them, it’s just much more pronounced on the “crunchy” set, it’s just barely creeping out around the edges on the other.

* I just looked at the invoice from the purchase and the crunchy set was actually listed as “crusty” lol.

Here’s a post from the ANAQ, he used a cropped version of the same pic I posted earlier of the SSDFK with the FK2…

Oh yeah, crusty is right! Crunchy was the weird ebonite with cork in it.

I could be wrong for sure. And they will vary quite a bit! Spine shot by chance?

For the people who were interested, here’s a few more pics of the vintage International Paper micarta, now known as VIPM. The “crunchy” variation has the blue screws, those are not black liners, it’s the crunchy portion of the scale meaning it’s the outside of the whole micarta slab which as formed a patina.

Thank you for clarifying. I saw those scales and thought that CPK was doing liners again even though I didn’t see it listed as a choice in the pre order thread.

Do any of you have pics of double black linen and double black canvas to compare? Is one darker than the other?
I’m assuming that the canvas is stronger than the linen, do any of you know if that is a correct assumption?
I’m trying to make sure that I order the darkest scales possible for the K20.1

Thanks.

First let me emphasize the Boss’s point that these are tools (or weapons in this case), not wall hangers!… but still, they will look rather nice on the wall…
